WASHINGTON D.C., On June 26th 2017, the East West Center in Washington D.C. and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) launched the report “India Matters for America / America Matters for India” with the support of Sannam S4, the Senate India Caucus and the House India Caucus. This report is a resource for accurate and nonpartisan information and analysis at the U.S. national, state and local levels on US-India interactions. On behalf of FICCI, the report was released by Ms. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group and Chair, Services Council of FICCI, Dr. Satu Limaye, Director East-West Center and the attending members of Congress.

The launch was attended by a number of representatives from Congress including Representative Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, Representative Ami Bera of California, Representative Eliot Engel of New York, Representative George Holding of North Carolina, Representative Pramila Jayapal of Washington, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi of Illinois, and Representative Ted Yoho of Florida.

The “India Matters to America / America Matters to India” report expands on the importance of the U.S. – India relationship particularly focusing on trade, investment, educational exchange and how the two nations benefit from a partisan relationship.

Adrian Mutton, Founder and CEO of Sannam S4 was one of only two private sector executives invited to speak to the audience at the Senate, addressing the future of the U.S.-India relationship and highlighting key areas the governments, institutions and private sectors from both nations should focus on.

Mr. Mutton held discussions on U.S. India relations in more detail with the attending Members of Congress and Representatives of the House India Caucus, highlighting the mechanisms Sannam S4 has put in place in India with its U.S. Business Centers to provide support to more small and medium sized U.S. businesses, across the United States seeking to expand in India.

“A year ago Prime Minister Modi announced in his historic address to Congress that the ‘U.S.-India bilateral relationship had finally overcome the hesitations of history’ and that signifies to me that there is significant potential of successful relationship between the two countries (as yet unfulfilled). Traveling around many of the U.S. states that are mentioned in this report, I have seen a thirst and appetite to engage with the India agenda yet there are significant gaps to support businesses to enter the (Indian) market. That is why Sannam S4 has led the initiative of the U.S. Business Centers with support from the U.S. India Business Council and U.S. government to build bridges among the gaps to help small to medium sized enterprises to expand into India,” said Adrian Mutton in his address.
